Nonablative fractional resurfacing Laser resurfacing is used to treat wrinkles, sun damage and scarring. Non-ablative fractional resurfacing heats small columns of the skin to stimulate production of new collagen, which helps the skin appear more smooth and clear. Several treatments typically are required to see results.

Cynosure Icon Cynosure Icon is a laser light device that has diverse applications to the skin. The Icon can treat the skin for brown spots and redness also known as photofacials. The Icon can also be used for laser hair removal on all areas of the skin. At Mountain Dermatology Specialists we also have the capability to use the Icon for nonablative fractional laser resurfacing which helps with fine wrinkles and scars.

Dermaplaning Dermaplaning is a procedure performed to reduce fine “peachfuzz” hair on the face that is not responsive to laser hair removal. Treatments last approximately a month.

Microneedling with PRP Microneedling uses numerous small needles to impress small holes into the skin to stimulate collagen growth and improve the appearance of the skin. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is harvested from each patient and contains a concentration of growth factors and nutrients. PRP is applied topically to the skin after microneedling to help with stimulating collagen growth and promote healing.

Laser Hair Removal Laser hair removal can be applied to the skin to reduce unwanted hair in any area of the body. The treatment is safe and requires multiple treatments for long-term results. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Photofacials, also referred to as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), are treatments using a broad light source to reduce brown pigment and redness of the skin. The treatment can be applied to many areas of the skin. Recovery time is minimal. More than one treatment may be needed depending on the degree of sun damage. This can be combined with Levulan treatment to reduce precancerous growths on the skin.

CHEMICAL PEELS We offer a variety of chemical peels to help exfoliate, diminish brown spots and reduce wrinkles to provide a more even skin tone. Depending on the type of peel performed, recovery time may vary from 3-14 days. The type of peel you need depends on your skin type and to goals you wish to accomplish.
