Dear MDS Patient,

At Mountain Dermatology Specialists, our priority is to help our community stay healthy during this uncertain time with COVID-19. It is affecting us daily in ways unimagined and unfamiliar. At this time, we have decided to remain open and will be assessing our situation on a daily basis to determine what is best for our patients and employees. We have no staff members that have been infected with COVID-19. If you have symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat and/or shortness of breath, please call your primary care doctor. We will reschedule your appointment for a later date. We are taking the following measures to help reduce the risk of transmission:

• Prescreening – We are calling all patients the day prior to determine if you have symptoms of COVID-19. If you have symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat and/or shortness of breath, you will need to call your PCP and reschedule your appointment at MDS. If someone in your household has symptoms, we will reschedule your appointment for a later date.
•  Universal Precautions – As a medical practice, we follow Universal Precautions normally as part of infection control. We will continue to follow measures outlined in universal precautions, which includes hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, respiratory hygiene, environmental cleaning and safe waste disposal.
• Office disinfection – We disinfect our exam rooms after each patient is evaluated. We disinfect our entire office daily and will continue to do so to eliminate risk of transmission from surfaces.
• Telehealth – We are implementing technology in our office to treat patients through telehealth for certain types of dermatology appointments which will allow patients to stay home and be seen by Dr. Urquhart and Dr. Bonati via video.
• Social distancing – We are changing our processes in the office so that patients will have minimal contact with staff and other patients.
