Skin Care

At Mountain Dermatology Specialists, we believe the foundation to healthy beautiful skin is a consistent skincare regimen with key components to battle sun damage and aging factors. Each individual has unique needs based on their genetics, exposures, medical history and lifestyle. Our team at MDS takes great care in selecting the right products for our patients for a customized skincare plan.

Why is SKIN Care important?

Skin is the largest organ of the body and is also the most visible organ of the body. Because of it’s visibility, our skin is part of the presentation of who we are. It tells a story about the state of our health and what matters to us.

Many factors impact our skin at times causing uncomfortable symptoms, uneven skin tone and risk for cancer development. As your dermatologists, we at MDS, work with you to understand what underlying factors can be changed to improve the health and beauty of your skin.

In our high altitude mountain community, we have unique challenges to our skin due to the environmental exposures from our outdoor lifestyle. Dryness, redness and sun damage are the most common concerns we see and can be addressed and controlled with an appropriate skin care regimen.

KEY ELEMENTS FOR A SKIN CARE REGIMEN

A good skin care regimen has two very important pieces – products that give results and a regimen that a patient will do. We carry various medical grade skin care lines that address various concerns of the skin. We help select products that are likely to match your skin type and issues and produce results. We also work with your lifestyle so that the skin care regimen is manageable and able to be applied to the skin. We help determine which products and how many steps you need to reach your goals for your skin.

SKIN & Hair CARE AT MDS

At MDS, we offer medical grade prescription strength skin and hair care products. Medical grade and prescription strength skin and hair care lines are products that have been researched in evidence-based studies. These research studies show the results that the products address. The skin and hair care industry is full of products that claim to do things to the skin and hair but have not been studied to show true change. With the products you receive from MDS, you are assured that research studies are behind them and are proven to help the skin and hair. Our products address acne, redness, brown spots, wrinkles, dryness, itching, swelling, bruising and hair loss.

New patients see our physicians for a baseline review of current dermatologic concerns and health history as well as a physical examination of the skin. This helps direct the regimen a patient will need. Typically, patients will return to see our physicians every 3-12 months depending on the severity of their dermatologic issues for reevaluation. For prescription strength products, a patient must see a provider at least once a year. We have team members who can also answer questions and help direct product selection for walk-in customers for nonprescription products.
